Christmas Note 2011
This year has been one full of changes. Some very exciting things have happened including reaching the top 60 in Italy and seeing my first baseball game in Kansas City! but there have been some very challenging times as well including changing jobs after 7.5 years with the same organization and moving out to the northern suburbs of Adelaide after 12 years down south.
We all know life is full of twists and turns, some expected some unexpected.
While I sit and reflect on 2011 and look forward to 2012 there is one thing that I know will never change. One thing I know that is a done deal that can never be changed!… and that is the love of the Father, Son and Spirit for not only me, but for you and every single living thing past, present and in the future. Nothing can change their passion and depth of love. Nothing can seperate us or make them any less passionate about us. Nothing!
This Christmas I want to remind again, that you are not alone. Sometimes it can sure feel like it but the truth is that we are never alone. In Christ we have been picked up just as we are, without having a say or vote in it, and taken home. We are seated at the family table, and have been invited to join in the party.
My prayer this Christmas is that we all may know more and more the depth of how much we are loved, the truth that we are never separated and the knowledge that we are wrapped up forever in Jesus.
Christ in Us Makes Top 60

New Video
Back in 1995 my friend Baxter Kruger published a book called God Is For Us. It is a book that reminds us how deeply and passionately we are loved by the Father Son and Spirit. I sat down to read this book a few years ago and just LOVED what the first chapter had to say.
Later this same year I went up to visit my relatives up in Darwin. We were doing a tour there and the night of the first concert my cousin who was organizing the event told me not to ‘preach’ too much
So.. my plan was that instead of doing much talking I would come up with a powerpoint slide presentation based on Baxter’s first Chapter of God Is For Us and some scripture to be played up on the screens while I was playing. It said everything and more of what I could have hoped to share that night so it was the perfect set up!
Since then we have used it at workshops and various gigs. It had become a bit of a favourite among some of my friends so…. we have now got it up on youtube so you can all check it out. Thanks to my friend Allie Martin has done some tweaking and posted it up so that we can share it with you all.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed making it… Blessings, Vanessa

Summer Camp II
Hello from Higher Ground Summer Camp in Swananoa NC! The weather here is warm, sunny, and humid! It has been such a great time meeting everyone, doing new things and getting to join with like minded people to share the truth of the gospel with people aged between 8-18.
I have been so excited to hear the speaker Paul David sharing about the Father Son and Spirit, he is such a great communicator, (but don’t tell him I said that
) On a serious note, It really is exciting to be a part of what the Spirit is doing and getting the chance to see people all over the world understanding more and more who they are in Jesus. I am SO glad for the chance to be a part!
Well.. I better sign off, but before I do, let me share a photo with you from the paintballing I did today!
Hope you are all well…. talk soon. Vanessa

New Song
Fresh off the paper, here are the lyrics to a new song I wrote yesterday. It still needs a little tweeking but let me know what you think.
you’re trying to prove what you already believe
that I am different to who I seem
that you are not really loved
oh, if you could only see
(chorus) My love for you will not change
you are engraved deep in My soul
and no matter what you may think
My mind is made up
I love you
I love you
I am never giving up on you
the battle gets stronger every day
as you struggle to rest in Me
a simple sight a sudden change
throws weight on what you believe
rejection sounds it’s bitter call
the haunting sound of being alone
echoes deep within your soul
it paralyses your all
some days you give up on Me
but I am never giving up on you
you can fight this as much as you want
but my heart is set on you
Easter
Goodness, it has been a while since i have written. It has been a busy couple of months this end but I am finally on Vacation and back in the USA. Woohoo…
I can’t believe that Easter is already here. This year is flying by. I wanted to share with you this Easter one of my favourite quotes by a guy back home in Adelaide named David McGregor. This may not be word for word, but is in the context of the quote. I LOVE it… it goes.
I don’t believe in the bible, i don’t believe in the cross, i don’t believe in the resurrection… i DO believe in the ONE who BREATHED the word to life, i DO believe in the ONE who DIED on the cross, i DO believe in the ONE who ROSE from the dead.
You know sometimes we can get caught up in all the symbolism that we forget that it is actually the ONE – Jesus – who died on the cross, not the cross itself that gives us hope.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am all for symbolism and it definately has it’s place and has moved me on more than one occasion… but lets not forget it was not the piece of wood, but it was Jesus who bore our pain and sadness, who felt our darkness, betrayal and hurt, breathed his last breathe, went deeper than we would ever go but was raised back to life and now standing at the right hand of the father, including us in everything that he has and is.
It is Jesus who stood in our place, never being seperated from the Father, going through the anguish and agony so that we, you and I could be home, and know that there is never a moment in our life that Jesus, is not familiar with. He has gone deeper than any of us will and have ever gone.
Jesus, not wood. Jesus, not just the resurrection, Jesus, not just the bible. This is our hope and where our security lies.
Death and Shame, Guilt and Pain we are forever free because He, Jesus Lives!!!
I hope you all have a great Easter as you are reminded of the hope that we have in and through Jesus.
Blessings…. Vanessa
